Hello all!

i'm new to this forum, and as such will start by apologizing if i post a redundant question. in an attempt to avoid doing so, i already did a forums search on "leather cracks", "leather dye", and the like, without relevant results.

my question:

Should/could i use a leather dye to "hide" surface cracks in my leather seats (1986 Saab 9000) before conditioning them? the cracks seem almost like superficial/surface level cracks (if there is such a thing).

i just bought this car, and for a car of it's age, i think it's in incredible condition, considering it served as a daily driver for over 20 years. my plan is to address the distressed leather seats (dark gray/grey) with a conditionering treatment, but would like to go about it the right way from the beginning.

any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated.

thanks!
greg

What car is it? Leatherique is probably the best bet.

there is a pic ^^^

Leatherique is the way I would go. They also have a dye kit that may help it even more.

thanks guys (and gals) - the general consensus seems to be to go with the leatherique. i'll give it a shot...

THANKS AGAIN!

Leatherique is one of the best leather rejuvinators, but it ain't gonna remove cracks. This is where the leather already seperated as it was not conditioned. I would suggest looking to an upholstery shop to have the area replaced (it is not that costly) and then condition with Leatherique so it wont happen again.

Yeh, if your leather is cracked nothing you can do but try a upholstry shop like Scott said. No condtioner or leather product is going take away cracks.
