I literally just finished my girlfriends car with wg Uber AIO. I used the pc on the 4.5 setting. It seems that I almost have to lift the pc to get it to turn at speed. If I put just a little pressure on it it hardly seems to turn. When applying product that is specific on setting is it imperative that I do just that? It seems that when I follow the contour of the car the speed of the pc seems to slow and almost stop. I'm really not even applying hardly any pressure. Is my technique flawed. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have found that cutting with a PC, I see much faster results if I use speed 5 or 6, (mostly 6) with 15 lbs. of pressure. Then, when polishing where there is little intent to correct significant defects, I lighten-up on pressure and slow down the speed to 4 or 3.5.

Try bumping the speed up to 5 and I am assuming you marked a stripe on the backing plate. You can vary your pressure based on following the stripe. Soon you will figure out there is a balance to seeing the backing plate spinning. However, the PC 7424 XP will still oscillate. You will have to learn the pressure on the PC. Sounds frustrating but that is what I had to do. It will become 2nd nature once you start getting used to the pressure. Also make sure your PC is flat and not at an angle. I actually work better without the handle on the PC. If you have the handle on, try it without the handle. I felt it gives a better flat surface if you just put you hand over the front of the machine. Try that and best of all....try to be patient!!....LOL The striped backing plate IMO will help and does help.

Yes kamakaz you are spot on. It seemed I had a much better feel and started to find a groove when I removed the handle. You are absolutely right about having patients. I had a splitting headache when I was finished. I'm new to the pc so I have a lot of learning to do. Of course my yellow backing plate is still in the package and I used the black one without a mark. All in all the car car came out really nice. Thanks again!

What size are the pads you used? 5.5" pads are the biggest I'd use unless I'm simply laying down wax.

I used white Lc foam 5.5. I saw that nick had recommended this color on his review of the wg aoi. Also I think this might be the first time this car has ever seen any kind of wax etc
