great product ---- have had one on my Vette for years. I believe they come standard on Lamborghini's also.

Dp these chargers have temperature compensation?

Most CTEK chargers are designed for all weather conditions.

Here's a quote from the UC 800 product description:

The UC 800 is prepared to charge and maintain, no matter the weather, temperature or situation. The UC 800 is very light and compact, but it is extremely robust and water and dust resistant (IP65 classification). The UC 800 is certified for use between -4°F and +122°F. In order to make things easier and more convenient, the Comfort Connect (eyelet terminals) can be permanently connected to the vehicle's battery.

Temperature compensation changes the output of the charger based on the ambient temperature.

True...
But doesn't the UC 800 CTEK allow for such ambient-temperature swings?
("The UC 800 is certified for use between -4°F and +122°F".)
Have I missed something here?

I suppose another way of asking this is:
What role does ambient temperature play in temperature compensation for a car battery charger?

-I'll say that CTEK, and other "trickle-chargers" of its ilk, have modern-day electronics that control ambient temperature
compensations, that fall within a range (that's peculiar/particular to each charger 'brand'), while a battery is being charged.

-However:
Doesn't a vehicle's charging-system provide a pre-determined/fixed voltage (by the OEM's...~13.8 to 14.4 V)
that adjusts to ambient temperature, while the vehicle is in use?

The latter would seem to be the more important of the two ambient temperature examples so given...IMO.
Anyway...Aren't most battery-charging-sessions, provided by trickle-chargers, usually done in a rather controlled-clime?

Irrespective of any of the above ramblings of mine:
-Extending the life-cycle of an automotive battery by reducing sulfation; and:
-Avoiding the results of Peukart's Law...

Was at least worth the investment of CTEK-type battery chargers for my vehicles (thus: batteries) storage/non-DD's.
