Hey all,
Here in the last couple of months, I've been turning a lot to the DA MF correction system, the correction is great and dont have the risk of the rotary. I've used the Finishing Wax on a few vehicles now and wondereing what kind of durability I can expect? If it's not that great, then would I just skip that step and go to a different sealant? If so, would the results not come out as good as using the finishing wax, or maybe topping the finishing wax? I wonder if I topped it, would I have a bonding issue?

Sorry for rambling but I think you know what I mean???

Thanks for the replies... :)

Hey Tom,

People really need to Keep in mind this system is geared for high volume, you are not going to get the same durability you will see with some other dedicated sealants. Though I'm told you can expect durability similar to that of Meguiar's M26.

The D301 is also finish down the paint a little so you can't really "skip" that step, as the paint almost always needs some level of refinement after D300. IMO if you really want to use a more durable sealant then you should finish of with a dedicated finishing polish (M205, 106fa, PO85RD...), followed by your choice in sealant. Many of the sealants may not bond properly to D301 and it seems pointless to strip it off so that you can apply a different protection.

If you have a client on a budget I'd go with D301. If they are willing to spend more to get more, then use a dedicated finishing polish and sealant. I will always explain the options to my customers and the differences between each option.

Just my $.02 :)

Thank you Rasky, that's exactly what I was looking for and I agree, it seems pointless to strip off the finishing wax to apply another sealant. :xyxthumbs::xyxthumbs::xyxthumbs:
