Wow amazing work! I wish I knew how to paint my own vehicle.

Can I ship my tailgate to your.:)

Dude, your truck is sick.
Bad ass pickup right there.

Beautiful work and cool shop! That red is spectacular.

I love PPG Deltron DBU but it's been banned in im area for VOC. I haven't yet learned to use the water base coatings.

Looks good, nice to see someone else who's not afraid to tackle some paint work.

^ Muchas Gracias Amigo

This Street Scene spoiler is just slightly higher than the OEM pad and doesn't have those unsightly torx mounting screws showing like the OEM part.

Spoiler painted and installed I'll cut & buff sometime this week. This spoiler has small winglets on a pair of smooth bed caps that finish the look. When I return from vacation I'll shoot those and install.

here is a pic with the smooth bed caps installed.

Does using the activator mean you can wax right away or does it still need to outgas? Awesome truck and mean garage. Where do you do your painting?

Thanks man

PPG's Deltron Basecoat comes in two flavors DBC and DBU. DBU needs a reactive reducer to reduce the base. The reactive reducer also activates (cooks) the paint hardening it into a rubber like urethane. The thing is this reactive reducer is very expensive ($75 gal) and has a short shelf life after opening the gallon. You can make your own reactive reducer by using a regular type urethane reducer ($45 gal) and an ounce of clearcoat activator (cooks the clear).

The paint still needs to outgas as normal. Using 3 coats of base and 3 coats of clear, plus sitting in the garage instead of outside in the sun, It needs the full 90 days to outgas before waxing or sealing.

I used to paint in the garage years ago. Now that's it's sheetrocked, painted and with the RaceDeck floor I'm forced to paint outside. I did spray the epoxy primer inside with a huge tarp on the floor.... big mistake! Took 4 hours wiping everything down from all the red oxide primer dust

The same garage in 2005 when I sprayed the bed.
