Hey AG Forum Members,
I had a neice that spilled some milk under my daily drivers back seat. This had happened early spring so the smell had reached a point where I tried everything.I shampoo'd all my DD carpet (Stanley Steamer with Professional cleaner),washed and scrubbed the area with APC cleaner (full concentration),tried CG's odor eliminator's (3 different one's).
NOTHING WAS WORKING!

I have been thinking about using the Dakota Odor Bomb that I purchased from AG a couple weeks back. The only problem is, there is no info from "DOB" company on applications using their product in automobiles. They tell you how to deodorize a 6000square foot room, but nothing auto.
http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZNman000 I did a search on any Threads about DOB and came up empty (thou I did find one horror story).
I was concerned (like most of you probley are/were) about the product discoloring or staining my vehicle's headliner, leather seats,or any other interior part, for that matter.
I started a plan in motion:
http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZNman000 I took an edged (raised sides) rubber floor mat (easy cleanable)
Grit Guard (keep product off the vehicle's floor)
and a cardboard box that I poked many hole's in (product to breath and be effective)

And guess what,IT WORKED

The floor mat was cleaned with a soft scrub brush and APC,the Grit Guard the same way,and the box thrown in the garbage can in the garage (My garage even smell's good,LOL)

Those that have that smell problem that just won't go away:

THIS ONE'S FOR YOU!

"That's thinkin with your dipstick Jimmy" ;)

Great idea, thanks for sharing!

Good idea with the box! Of course knowing it will spray the foam out is half the battle. ;)

By the way, how long has it been since you did this?

another hint ... once the carpet was cleaned properly, spray with 303 Fabric/Carpet Protectant. It makes any future cleanup so easy, it doesnt even allow the stuff to penetrate past the surface.

I did the Dakota Odor Bomb Friday night. The smell from the milk was eliminated until today.I thought the DOB would of killed the smell but 5 days later it's faintly there.Im at my witt's end on how to get the smell out?

Carpet extractor? Steamer? or in worse case scenario it got in the foam under the carpet and you're going to have to pull the carpets to clean under them

How about OdoBan? You can pick that up at your local Sam's Club (assuming you have one in your area)....

PM sent with info that will solve your problem.

I have yet to find an odor that plain old full strength IPA won't kill. It's the main ingredient in all those pet store odor products too. It's a solvent and disinfectant so it kills and dissolves whatever is stinking. It even eliminates cigarette smoke odor. Just take 91% IPL, and spray it or just pour it on the spot. Also the pet shop product Natures Miracle has IPL plus enzymes that eat any organic residue, like dog poo or in your case milk.

I was just going to mention using an enzyme bacteria digester. Your spill is organinic. The trick is to mix it and let it fully saturate the spill I think you let it sit about 12-24 hours and then simply extract.

I'm going to try some SoPure (Avi Moradi) has hooked me up with a North America supplier. We will see how this works?

Just wondering what if anything got rid of the milk smell?
