Damaged pad - ok to use?

Hi everyone,

I stored this Meguiars pad improperly (it was a little damp and had some weight on one section of the pad). The next time I looked at it this section was disintegrated.

So my question is is it ok to use still? The section still seems soft enough to the touch, but feels like it could be a different texture than the other surface. Is there any risk to using this for waxing/polishing?

Thanks,
Dave

you probably won't mar the paint with it but you may get little bits starting to fly off the pad as you use it. It's probably toast.

Cut it up and use it for trim or tire dressings

Haha that's a very good idea!

But yeah, I don't suggest you use it. Especially if you're using a rotary instead of a DA; the more stuff flies off, the more imbalanced it gets, and I assume that's probably not good for the machine

Good time to try out the new MF pad to replace the damaged one there!

:iagree: I've got a box of different pad pieces Ill use them with the original products they were used for in door jams, trunk's & hood's and as said T/T dressing even chrome polishes? Were ever pads can't fit??:props:

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I was also thinking of figuring out a way to get some velcro onto some gloves and using a circular section as a waxing pad that can't be dropped. :)
