Here are a few quick thoughts after my initial use of DDJ Supernatural Shampoo. Scale is 1-10 with 10 being the highest.
suds - 1
Sorry to admit that I'm partial to sudsy shampoos. Similar to doing a waterless or rinseless wash - no suds to be speak of whatsoever.
cleaning power - 9
Understanding that this product is intended to be used on well maintained cars, it's perfectly fine in terms of its cleaning ability. Wouldn't use it on distressed or cars that are ultra dirty.
lubricity - 8.5
• I use a Lake Country Wash Wedge which literally glided over the surface. I've tried numerous shampoos and there is nothing else on the market which compares in this aspect. I
• residue left behind on paint- 0 (in this case 0=highest marks) Inspected surface in my garage - in the dark using a Brinkman inspection light. One of the best I've ever seen. Literally nothing left behind. No smudging, streaking or cloudiness. Really fantastic!! fyi, I use the new DP Turbo Car Dryer (does about 90% of the work) and a Microfiber Madness Dry Me Crazy towel to blot completely dry with a light mist of detail spray directly onto the face of the towel.
• residue left behind on glass-0 (again top marks - the glass looked significantly better and didn't "require" window cleaner so that was a big time saver)
cost - 9
On a per gallon basis assuming 1/3 oz of product to 3 gallons water, SN Shampoo cost per gallon is $.23 which is pretty high, exceeded only by BTBM which is $.32 because SN has a 1500-1 dilution ratio. Even so, the price is steep and will only use it on my personal vehicle or other "queen like" cars. The family SUV will not see this product. My point of reference regarding price is Ultima Paint Guard Wash (a terrific everyday shampoo) which is $.11/gallon which isn't cheap but...not outrageous either IMO. Like I said in my BTBM review, I can truly see a difference in what is NOT left behind - leaving the clarity of the paint in top shelf condition. The SN Shampoo might leave the paint a bit glossier than BTBM fwiw because it contains some glossing agents (at least that's my understanding from reading the AG description)
Conclusion
Well I liked the shampoo but didn't love it. I think I will use & recommend BTBM as the "superior" product of the two because no glossing agents, more suds and seemingly greater lubricity. YMMV but honestly you can't go wrong with either shampoo. Just know upfront that neither shampoo makes a ton of suds and if that's your thing, look elsewhere. If a low sudsing shampoo that rinses like a dream and leaves your paint streak free sounds intriguing, then you should give one of these a try.
