de molded and now I have scratches

I de molded my truck and I have scratches where I used the fishing line. I wet sanded some of them out and now I have sanding marks in the paint. how do i get the marks out. I used a porter cable buffer with orange pad with compound and polish. I still can see the dullness in the small areas. Any advice?

Pick up some surbuff pads for your DA and then try to compound and polish out again. Typically it's recommended to use a rotary to get rid of sanding marks. But I've heard that the surbuff pads do a good job on the DA.

What grit sand paper? What kind of truck is it?

I sanded a portion of a Honda pilot hood with 3000 grit and removed all of it with the mf system

I have a 2010 silverado and I used 2000 grit. I also have some lines cut into the clear from the fishing line I used to remove the badges.

I'd suggest maybe hitting it with some 3000 grit to see if your can further remove the sanding marks and then hit it with the DA.

May still have to get some surbuff pads though.

What test fishing line were you using? That was some abrasive stuff! You can try feather sanding with a fresh piece of 2500 grit cut into smaller pieces. And if that doesn't work go back down to 2000. I have had good success with my PC-DA and spot buffs when it comes to removing stubborn defects like sanding marks. But be careful when using smaller pads at your usual speed setting for compounding. The little pads can build up some heat at high OPM and cut through quick at the edge of the pad. You have to use the rotary technique of keeping the tail-end of the pad off the paint when focusing on small areas so your not dragging the back-end of the pad along a body-line/edge.
