2011 CTS V Sport Wagon
556 Hp - Not Your Grandma’s Wagon

Below is a except from AutoBlog:
Here in America, drivers who prefer station wagons to crossovers and SUVs are in a distinctly fringe minority. In spite of that, Cadillac has heard the cries from the wilderness and delivered the car we've been clamoring for. The CTS-V Sport Wagon is now finally official and production starts later this year.

Ever since AMG built a handful of Hammer station wagons back in the late 1980s, the idea of a family hauler with ludicrous power and torque has held a strange and twisted appeal for us. The V-wagon takes all the traits we love about the 556-horsepower sedan and adds the expanded cargo body style.

Aside from the tailgate, everything else is carried over, including the magnetic ride damping system, Brembo brakes, 19-inch wheels shod in Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s, and the asymmetrical half-shaft rear end to avoid axle tramp. Add in 25.4 cubic feet behind the back seats and 58 cubic feet with them folded and we may well have the perfect performance car. Did we mention the 551 pound-feet of torque?

This vehicle was in need of some Deep Gloss TLC to prep for its driving time with Auto Magazine and Car and Driver this week.

Due to the very limited time I had with this vehicle (1.5 hours) and also due to the fact that it is about to get driven hard and hung up wet by the media this week, only a wash & wax performed and, as such my process, documentation and pictures are limited. I am posting this more due to the fact that this car is not yet released as opposed to show case the wash and wax.

Process:

Paint:
ONR wash
Duragloss Aqua Wax
Duragloss 501 on water spotting
Goo Gone use to remove duct tape residue on body

Glass:
Surf City Glass Cleaner

Engine:
Engine ONR wipedown
Duragloss 265

Wheels/Arches:
ONR
Barebones
Optimum Dressing

Exhaust Tips:
Never Dull

Thanks for looking, Stay tuned as I will have the CTS V coupe in soon!

Awesome work! That car is amazing, I really like power wagons. My wife would love a power wagon like this. This thing would make like the ultimate mommy mobile, too bad I don't have kids, can you imagine kids being shuttled around in this thing.:xyxthumbs:

And again great job.

I am a Ford Mustang guy, but I can sure appreciate what Cadillac is doing with this car. Very sharp. Great work on the detail. Too bad you can't tag along during the shoot. I'd like to see Ford do something like this with one of the new 5.0 motors or something else.

Don

You lucky dog you! The 2009+ CTS-V's are sick! I would love to own one! I've had the pleasure of driving the less powerful STS-V and can only imagine what one of these beast would be like!

Great work as always Jason! :props:

WOW! Jason has some clout that's for sure! I hope you get mentioned in the magazines. With such little time I bet you were wide open running like a madman. Car looks great by the way.

Thanks Erik, I am also one of the few that prefer a wagon over a SUV.

One thing is for sure, if this gets used for shuttling the kids to a fro they should never be late!!

Thanks again!

Thanks Don... I hear you on the appreciation for what GM has done lately with Cadillacs, it is hard not to appreciate what they are launching!

Thanks Chad.. I agree, they are super sick. I LOVE the 2010 V Sedan, I have a couple of those under my belt as well and I absolutely LOVE THEM... A sedan with all that power really is a weakness of mine!

I had the opportunitty to open a new 2010 V sedan wide open.. WOO HOO, that was fun!

Thanks again!

Hey Rick,

Ha ha, I have been fortunate to have my work looked at / appreciated by some very high up executive directors at OEM's

If this were going to a full photo spread then I may have a chance to get mentioned but, this is just for a good full tilt boogie first look test drive by the mags... I would have been in so much mental anguish if I only had 1.5 hours to prep this vehicle for a full photo spread...

Very nice ride, good fast way to go get the groceries!

Wow very nice.

I'd like to see that go head to head with the HSV R8 Tourer.

My friends mum has an R8 sedan, but if you like wagons then I'm sure this would please too:

Thanks Munich, they are not for sale yet. They go on sale at the end of the year.

There is currently only a handful of them (5 total).

Wow Jason, I bet you wish you had more time to work on that car and really take over the top! Regardless, the pics are going to be so much better with your proper prep.

BTW, any engine pics? ;)

Sweet car it reminded me of this video...

Hey Jacob: You read my mind. It was so hard to not have the time to do what I wanted to!
