DEEP Headlight Scratches

Hey guys,

Got a Headlight on my bike with some DEEP scratches...honestly they are more like gouges. I have no idea how they got there....it's like someone stabbed my headlight with a screwdriver.

Before I buy another headlight, do you think wet-sanding/polishing could make these gouges disappear? I've cleaned up scratches on headlights before but nothing this deep. Thanks

I had a worse gouge on my Ninja 1K. It happened when a car kicked up a branch and smack the headlight of my bike. It covered an area of about 1/2"x 1 1/2".

I sanded the gouge with 1000 grit and worked my way up to 2500, followed by polishing with SSR 2.5. The result was almost like new unless you put your face to the headlight. I made sure to localize the correction so I minimize the removal of any UV protection and it was sealed immediately after.
