Two days ago, I didn't pull my brand new Audi A6 in Moonlight Blue into the garage quite far enough. (Yeh, you know what's coming next) and my husband lowered the garage door. Thankfully, he saw what was happening and reversed it, but not quite soon enough. It was probably the only time since I bought the car that I didn't check the reverse camera.
So, I've been doing a ton of searching and reading various options for fixing, including (but not limited to) Langka, Dr. Colorchip, Paintscratch.com, and Automotivetouchup. After obsessing over every option, and seeing what looked like the greatest number of positive reports, I ordered DrColorchip. However, I have some questions about whether I should do some additional work.
I've posted photos below where it appears that the scratches go to bare metal. Additionally, it looks like the clearcoat is chipped away from the base coat around the perimeter of the scratch. It may be hard to tell, but the scratches are no more than 1/4 inch long. So my questions are:
Any other tips, suggestions cautions, etc are much appreciated.

- Should I wetsand first to smooth the clearcoat ridge around the perimeter of the scratch? If I should sand, will I need 2000, or can I play it safe with 3000? Will the Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover followed by Pinnacle Finishing polish (I already have them) applied either by PC or hand be appropriate to bring back the shine, or will I need something with more cut? A have a variety of LC pads with decent cut, such as the green and yellow.
- I plan to use primer first just in case that is bare metal, but should I also use a filler before going to the Dr? If so what brand?
- Should I instead use either the primer or paint to fill in the scratch first?
- Should I buy a clearcoat to finish? The Dr. Colorchip process doesn't use one.
Any other tips, suggestions cautions, etc are much appreciated.
