Detail Ford F150 Lariat

Gary, nice job there on your f-150. You do outstanding work. I know you are a real car guy. Keep posting your pics and comments. I do enjoy them.
I just love your truck! I have one and it's gold. It's just a XL. Not the big dog like yours.

Sparkie, When I purchased this truck I was just looking for something to pull my enclosed car trailer. I really was just looking for a basic truck with a class 3 hitch. I even looked at some used trucks. They made me such a deal on this truck I could not resist it. With rebates and the deal they gave me I got for just over $11,000.00 off the sticker price. I could not believe it. It was cheaper then I could find a used one for and was about 1/3 off the total sticker price. It was the best deal I have ever got on a new vehicle.

Same with my truck. Sticker was like $22,500.00 got it for $15,000.00. :D Yes new!

And they wonder why American vehicles have such bad resale value :D, I sold my other truck but it was an 03' Mountaineer Premier Edition, stickered for about 40K bought for 30K lol.

My F150 sticked for $34,600 and I brought it for $23,150. At the time I was looking people were asking more then that for a used one. I thought about getting a Toyota but for a similar truck the best deal I could get as about $30,000. There's no way I thought the Toyota was worth that much more and I also thought the Ford is a better looking truck. At the prices Ford has been selling some of ther vehicles at it's no wonder they are loosing so much money.

The american car companies really need to get their act together and start building better cars and improve their image. I'm from the Detroit area and I have a lot of ties to the Auto Industrty. A few year ago was the first time I have ever purchased a foreign car. I hope the american companies can turn things around.

Same with me, I originally talked to the dealer about a barely used 03' Mountaineer they had, but when I went there I fell in love with the black one that was new....and it cost me less to buy the new one then it would have the used one LOL. Used one was still going to be about 32K give or take a couple thousand for negotiating.

I was looking at leases for the Jeep SRT-8, numbers I was getting back, jeez, you'd have thought I was buying a 60K+ vehicle not a 40-45K one thanks to the crap residuals. It's actually chepaer to buy that truck then lease it, but I was thinking of it more for business so...

Did you see the new Tundra, I didn't care for the looks at first but was checking out some final production pics, I think it's a pretty badass truck both exterior and the funky interior. Toyota finally made a "full size". And holy hell is it quick, few places that have tested it, damn truck is running basically 6 seconds to 60 and 1/4 in almost mid 14's stock:eek: . I love the F150 but that was one of the reasons my cousin traded his in on a Titan, even with his mods it was still slower, and witha heavy trailer the Titan towed a bit easier and didn't seem to struggle powerwise, especially when going u pa grade. Ford needs a stronger engine and the 6 speed their using in the Mountaineer/Navi etc (which is a good trans). That Hurricane engine would have been perfect but they canned it, the current engine is torquey but it's pulling a fat lady lol.

I was in the same boat when I bought my 2004.5 Dodge Ram 2500. The sticker on it was $42,500 and I was out the door for $34,000. All in all, not a bad deal!

I really wanted a 6-speed, but the auto hasn't been bad.

I like the Tundra but I still did not think it was worth $7,000 more. I don't go around racing people in my pickup truck so I don't really care how fast it is. With my F150 I have pulled my Viper up to Georgia and my Lamborghini up to Orlando in my enclosed car trailer. My trailer weighs about 3,000 lbs and the truck pulls the trailer with a car in it very well. I have no complants about the truck. If I had to do it over again I would still take the F150 plus $7,000 over a similar Tundra.
