My first full exterior detail job lastnight and didn't finish until this morning when I put the last coat of wax on. 6hrs to do it all!
This is what I did:
Wash - OTC soap
Clayed - OTC Clay magic: seems to work well enough, paint felt very smooth and slick after use.
Wash - OTC soap
Swirl remover - Pinnicle XMT 1,2, or 3 : Did not dust up, Didn't get all the swirls out of the car but I may need to try a stronger pad. Pleasent smell to them.
Polish - Jeffs Werkstatt Prime:Strong : Started to see a nice smooth and "wet look" out of it after applying. Applying and removing product was very easy.
Sealant - Jeffs werkstatt Acrylic Jett: WOW, the metallic did "PoP" and I got a wet look that I've never gotten before with P21S. Very impressive stuff. Only downfall was that it dried and left streaking and took LOTS of elbow grease to wipe off. Next time I will take the product off after I finish a panel.
Wax - Pinnicle Liquid Soveran: I didnt get a sweet a slickness with the Sealent so I added this wax. It made the paint slick as can be. This is a very nice wax. It now hurts to look at the car when the sun is out. Very reflective.

Tools:
Porter cable 7336: First time using it, made applying wax and stuff so much more easy. Did have problems with my wrist hurting, but it was due to not holding it properly. No pain the second day I used it. Well worth the $42

Edge 2000 White, Blue, Orange pads: Pads are very good and I love the easy removable system it uses.
The Shmitt wash mitt: It was wierd using at first, didn't glide over the paint as easily as a normal wash mitt. Got use to it and love the backside for taking off bugs and tar.
Cobra Micro fiber towel: Very impressed with this drying towel, Didn't have to wring it out until halfway through the second wash. This damn thing can suck up water a lot better than my old shammy

Very nice, the paint is POPING!!! Very nice reflection, it's difficult to get a wet look on light color vehicles but it looks good buddy...well done.

Like that write up.

Oh yea...that car is low....low rider NICE!

Very nice write up and pics. You're so lucky that you got the PC on the special. None of my local Lowes have had it for 3 months and online from their site it's $109.00. :(

Yeah you have to treat the Werkstatt like you would SG, do a panel at a time.

Your car looks great! :applause:

LOL so tired I forgot about the wheels and tires. I used Megs high endurance gel and on the wheels I used DP wheel glaze.

Looks like now I'll be doing my girlfriends car on saturday. Next week will be two of my friends cars. They seem to like the slickness of the car and want the same. Me being such a good friend will be doing it all for free =/

Guess I'm now addicted to detailing.

Hello, looks very nice. Im going to look at uying a 2003 protoge5 wagon later today. Any issues I should look out for? Thank you. Andrew

Great review, thank you for taking the time to do it, these post take sometime to put up. Nice to have all of our members sharing their details and reviews with us.

Looks pretty good. How do you like Werkstatt products so far? Easy to use? Finicky (like Klasse SG)?

Tried to detail the girlfriends car today. Kind of got frustrated and quit lol. I tried XMT 1 2 and 3, with E2k orange, green then yellow pads. Can't get rid of the swirls and light scratches!. So I said screw it and went to the next step of prime strong. That went well and without a problem.

Then came AJ. When I first used it, I had thought I had kept it on too long and it was a pain to take off and had lots of streaking.

Today I used AJ on one panel at a time then wiped it off. Still streaking!!!!! Its nearly impossible to take off!! Kinda disapointed now in the stuff.

Looks like I may have to try poorboys SSR 1 2.5 and 3 next and also some wolfgang sealent and see if the results are any better.

Still in love with the Liquid Gold..er I mean Liquid soveran!

Wow i love your Zoom Zoom! Cant Wait to get a MS3 or MS6!!!
