Detailed - 1998 Mitsubishi

Detailed my car today :) Its a 1998 Mitsubishi Carisma (european model)

Started with Meguiars Speed Glaze #80 with orange light cutting pad, then the Nxt Tech Wax with the gray pad, then Pinnacle Carnauba Wax with blue pad, and finished with the Souverän Spray Im the MAN The paint looks like it is new :)

Looks better then new. By then way, did you let NXT cure for 12 hours before applying wax?

I doubt he did, I dont let wax cure either.


That is an AMAZING wax job you did BTW, silver is hard to get reflections like that and you really did it. Nice job!

Looks great. The silver appears very glossy. What was the thought of using NXT as a base? Not criticizing, just curious.
 
Thanks for the tips and nice comments! I didnt know that the NXT wax should cure for about 12 hours before the next step :o But now i know :p

And why i used the NXT wax? I think it gives a very nice result, quick and easy :) But maybe some of you could mension a wax that is better than the NXT, but costs about the same? Or did you mean that it isnt necessary with the NXT wax, since i used the Carnauba and the Souverän Spray :confused: Help me :grouphug:

That silver's looking great, and the car looks new :D.

You can top NXT with wax, just make sure you let the NXT cure for 24 hours. Any synthetic wax/sealant needs to be cured for 24 hours. Some say 12 hours, but it depends on the instructions. It is also said that you can't layer NXT because it has cleaners that will remove previous layers of protection, so just apply it once then top it with any wax you like :)

Great work there "nordmann" he he, aint easy getting reflections from silver, but you did it....

You dont "need" the NXT wax but its ok to have a protection layer under the Souveran wax, no one will probably fall of the chair if i say: Duragloss 101 or 105 (or both) as a base, that works great regarding durability and looks.

Most, if not all sealant will need a curing period. Same goes with the DG105 (+12/24 h) before putting the Souveran on top.

How did you like the Spray wax? i was thinking about getting that and the Souveran myself..

Just a little update ;)

Waxed with Pinnacle Souverän on friday 17th. and finished with Pinnacle Souverän Spray on sat. 18th. Got a little trophy for "BEST SHINE" on the last Mitsubishi meeting :D :applause:
