This low mile, black Z06 vette arrived in need of a detail for the upcoming Corvettes at Carlisle Event. So our goal was to make sure the paint was as flawless as could be, making sure all defects are gone and maximum gloss and depth achieved. With that said, there were a good deal of scratches/swirls and such that needed to be removed. As well as a debadging of the trunk and removal of some old wax in edges and jams. Needless to say, this very loud vette was prepared to shine!

Products used:
Meguiar’s M105 + Purple wool pad on rotary
Menzerna SIP + Orange pad on PC
Menzerna 106 + White pad on PC
Chemical Guys Citrus wash
P21S paint cleanser
P21S polishing soap
P21S TAW
Chemical Guys wheel cleaner
Meguairs Superdegreaser
Sonus Ultrafine green clay
CG maxi suds and ONR mix as clay lube
CG 5050 wax
Rejex sealant for wheels

Process:
Car was sprayed with TAW and left on for a minute, rinsed off and washed with Citrus wash. Car had a lot of rail dust and took 3 hours alone to take all off. Washed wheels with CG WC and exhaust tips were cleaned with polishing soap. After car was washed again and dried, all trim was taped off, LED tail lights were removed because they were not flush with the body and had rubber trim around them, license plate holder/backup light were removed as well. Did test panel and after trying several combos we went with most aggressive combination because clear coat on this year Z06 is very hard, I would say harder then on MC or BMW E46 M3. Bumpers and tight spots of the car were done with wool and 105 on PC, rest of the car was done with same combo on rotary. After compounding front of car was done with orange pad and SIP and then followed with white pad and 106 to get best finish possibly. Tail lights were polished with same combo as car on PC and installed back in. After polishing, car was paint cleansed and waxed.

Very nice, working on Vette paint always makes for a fun day, but when its black, you better have brought your patience!

^agreed, after this paint i dont realy like them, had to use rotary on this paint which we usually dont use, even audi paint is softer compared to this (at least before they switched to water based paint or however you call it since 2010 audi paint is pretty soft compared to other years)

we had 2 of those vetts one after another, this was second one, first was silver but dont have many pics of that one so didnt do write up
