Detailed black BMW X3 (new pics)

The car was fairly messy on the outside, but ok on the innside.

Innside:

-wacum carpets
-Meguiars NXT gen tech protect and MF (cleans well, easy to use)
-Meguiars GC rich leather (easy to use, and not "shiny")

Wash:

-Grit Guard (wow)
-NXT gen wash (great wash, takes the slicknes away, but the car is getting
a detail, so i dont care. Cleans GREAT)
-ShMitt W/Y (wow)

Wheels

-P21s wheel cleaner (needed a stronger cleaner, the job was to "hard"
for the P21s WC, used it 3 times, and still dirty, salt, asphalt etc is not
easy to remove, and i didnt have anny acid cleaner)
-EZ wheel brush (wow)
-ShMitt black (wow)

Clayed with Pinnacle clay (wow)

Drying with the Guzzler (wow) so that was done in a sec.

Placed the car in the pre heated garage 7 hours (dentis, kids school etc)

Detailing:

Step 1

First i had to take on those swirls, got the EDGE kit the same day as i was going to detail, so i used the orange pad and XMT 1 to start. tryed the combo on the door, and it semed to take the swirls out so i caryed on.
I was not sooooo bad, you dont get swirls if you dont wash.............

-XMT 1 (wow)
-Edge Orange pad (wow)
Got a "oily! finish after the XMT 1, but it was gone after DG105 and LS, someone knows why this happens? work it to short/to long? Shouldnt be bonding as the XMT 1 is cleaner (right?) please give reply if u know.

removed with MF towel

Step 2

Wanted to try the DG 105, its winter here, and the owner dont wash the car that often, so i needed something that had longtime protection.

-DG #105 on by hand, Megs pad (easy on, easy of. good gloss, not that slick)
-Remove with MF towel

Removed the DG 105 after 1 hour, and let it cure for 12 h.

Step 3

After curing time was over, i wanted to use the Liquid Souveran to top it,
maaaaaan is this a slick, deep, gloss, shiny looking wax.

-Liquid Souveran (wow)
-Remove MF towel

Next was: Wheel Wax, Meguiars GC trim detailer, Meguiars NXT gen glass cleaner, Meguiars NXT Insane Shine Tire coating.

Enough talk, lets go to the pics.

That looks like it was driven through a swamp!

 Your definition of "not bad" and mine are way different! That thing is naaaaaaaaaaaasty!! Can't wait for the afters. :)

OMG, was it last washed wth sandpaper? oh wait, it was NEVER washed, my bad. good luck, lol.

Truls, I'm looking foreward to seeing the after pictures. The car definitely needs a make over.

Hey there, awesome job! :applause:

I would've loved to see the look on your face when you saw what you had to detail! LOL

It went from looking ragged out to new off the show room floor. Good work with the 7424, can't wait for mine to arrive with my first order. Mike....

Thanks to AutoGeek and the AutoGeek forum. For guidelines and GREAT detailing stuff...........

Amazing work, Truls! Great detailed write-up as well.:applause:

Great work, Truls!! Nice turnaround. I liked that tire, and wheel well before/after shot!! Also liked the hood shot with the XMT1 and MF towel. Did you have to hurry to take the shot before they slid off the hood? :D

Used glue, theyr still on the hood......Made a rolling AutoGeek commercial, he got the detailing 4 free :D

Nice work Truls! 3.0 Diesel sounds pretty cool for an X3. Over here I think we only get the 2.5i and 3.0i. What was the hardest part for you? Learning to get used to the PC?

Awesome after pics!! It doesn't look like the same car! You really brought out that car's beauty! How cold was it in Norway when you did the detail? How did the polishes perform in the colder temps? I know they were formulated to excel in the heat and sun, but I'm curious to know how the perform in the cold as well. Thanks. :)

Truls, a great job! Are you now doing some detailing on the side? Also, since you're using the PC over there in Europe, what are you using to convert to 110V?

Great, great work on the BMW, we all know how nasty the European weather (especially up north where you are) can be on black cars! You made it look better than new!

TRULS! One more question: how did you make the wheels look so go on the inside?
