Detailed Ruby (Dodge Charger) This Weekend

Finished detailing the car this weekend. This was my first detail using the Porter Cable and I was please with the results. The car has been sitting in the garage the past two years so it wasn't in bad shape to start with. Was surprise at the improvement.

What were your pads/polishes etc.?

I used Pinnacle XMT 360 with a Lake Country CSS 5 1/2" White pad for Cleaner/Polish/Seal. Applied a light X pattern of XTM on the pad which gave a good amount for each section. Stayed with a 5 setting for the speed. There was one spot I had to used a 4" flat Orange pad to remove a minor scratch. The White pad was not aggressive enough for the scratch.

I followed with Pinnacle XMT Carnauba Finishing Glaze with a CSS 5 1/2" Blue pad. Stayed with the quarter size amount on the pad for application. Used a 4.75 - 5 speed setting. Application seemed better with the 4.75 setting.

Was impressed with both products and they were extremely easy to use with the 7424XP. For a two step process it came out well.

The color is Pearlcoat Inferno Red (factory). The photos don't show the pearlcoat very well (probably due to my photography skill level). After the detail the pearlcoat just pops out.

Thats the color of my wifes Dodge Journey. I put on some DP poli coat yesterday. When I woke up this morning It was raining:doh:

In a couple of weeks I'm going to do my daughters Charger R/T and see if it comes out like Ruby did. She has a silver one (same year) but no pearlcoat. We'll see how that one comes out.
