This thread in no way pokes fun at any religious belief nor is it intended to. So please have an open mind as we confess our detailing purchasing sins.

After taking part in this forum for over 6 months I regularly see posts about sneaking products from AG into the house without the wife, or sometimes husband, knowing what was spent and bought. I am guilty as well, with a shipment do today and I will be home to accept it. :D So fess up your sins and you shall be pardoned but there will be some penitence to pay.

The confessional is now open

I have 3. One is similar to yours and one might not fit what you had in mind.

1) We're all probably guilty of this. As you mentioned, one day I was expecting a package from AG. My wife didn't know about but I knew our nanny at home would take the package inside. I sent her a text message saying "hey, just put that box in the garage" She responded back asking how much I was going to pay her to keep her quiet. I said, "I pay you twice a month already".

2) I can't pass up a good sale. I love boutique products as much as most people-but lately the sales at auto parts stores, wholesale box stores etc...I've got enough Meguiar's UQD, various tire shines and wheel cleaners to detail 200 cars and I don't even do this for a living.

3)Once I dropped a clay bar on the concrete half way through a customer's car. Picked it up-gave it a quick rinse, kneaded it and went back to work. C'mon y'all I know others have done this.

Forgive me father for I have sinned:

First Order with AG 4/30/09: $267.00 (I didn't mention to my husband how much I spent, and he would kill me if he knew I paid $95.00 for the Souveran car wax alone!).

Second Order with AG 6/1/09: $55.00 (I did tell my husband that I needed to get the bug splatter off the front hood of my Murano which didn’t come off with the washing last week, and also a black grease mark on the new carpet behind driver seat). He picked up the box in the driveway yesterday and gave me one of those looks. I quickly said "remember, I ordered the bug remover and grease remover." LOL!

Third Order with AG 6/2/09: $135.00 (Okay, I know I stated on this very forum 2 days ago, that I would not be able to make my next purchase for a while, but when you guys started telling me about Clay, well I had to look into it, and of course you can’t have the Clay without the Lubricant, and someone mentioned the Pinnacle Crystal Mist, and well what the heck I threw in a few humungous size Ultimate Guzzler Waffle Microfibers!) Shhhhh! The box is coming in today, and I get out of work at 1:00 p.m. (Summer Fridays!). Note to self: rip up boxes into small pieces and keep in back seat of car to be dumped in garbage can at office on Monday. LOL! :awesome:

I love these, we have a customer that ships his packages to his neighbors house, got one that has his items shipped to work... ahh the sins I have heard on the phone!:p

Well I have a not so normal one, being a college student off on summer break right now I am at my parents house. I ordered some AG stuff, Dodo Juice sample pack and some other odds and ends of the bi-annual full detail, well I had to make sure I ordered it so it would arrive Mon-Thurs, so no one would be home but me. Right when the UPS guy came i opened up the box and cut the box up so my parents would not found out I just spend more money on my car and detailing products. Every time they see the shelf in the garage that has my detailing stuff they ask oh is that new, I just say oh no I had that it was just hidden or yeah I got it on sale for cheap. :)

1. You are quick on the come back with the Nanny. If a five spot will keep her mum it is a worth while investment.

2. So start to detail all of the families cars and stay away from big box retailers, Hint shop at AG.

3. There is nothing I can do for this one as it is a mortal sin. You will be plauged with bad luck this entire detailing season. No one else on this board would ever think of doing that.

Well maybe one would but me thinks he has issues. :D

First order. Your guilt complex is penitence enough. Once his car has had the Pinnacle applied it will look so great that all thoughts of costs are
irrelevant. But I would keep the cost to myself if you know what I mean. He does not have a need to know.

Second Order. This is not valid as you already had his OK. But I like your quick thinking and outhers should follow your example. :righton:

Third Order. Next time show some self control and wait for a sale to make the purchase. The AG shopping cart is your friend least we forget what we wanted. The line "But honey it was on sale" forgives a lot of sins. If I were you I would put the ripped up box in a brown paper bag before placing in the car.

So don't be such a prude and share more. To us in this thread we consider them helpfull tips. :D

I can see that you are already wise beyond your years and will help you a lot once you are married. I suggest that a full detail of the Rents car is in order. When they comment on how nice the car looks tell them that quality products make the car look better. If they ask for facts to back up the statement you will mysteriously receive an urgent call on your cell.

The brown box was waiting for me today. Some Nattys Red and Liquid Souveran. I am detailing my sisters car next weekend and it is white.

Once it is inside my detailing cabinet it all looks the same. :righton:

BTW. I was busted having a train engine delivered to work. Never again.

So terrible, I have already had 3 boxes sent to work, but of course the wife found out anyway. This virtually always happens owing to my lack of skill in hiding things, lying, etc. I can never get away with it. (However, curiously, I keep on trying . . .)

I can see we need to talk about sneaking detailing supplies into the house without the better half finding them. The best place to hide them is in full view. Getting the supplies to the full view place unobserved takes practise.

so.........what happens if one of your significant others comes on here and reads this ;)

im one that does this. i even use my work email address so the wife cant see the purchase and shipping verification.

My wife is a housewife and cargiver to my two boys, as such I never get to open my own mail or packages. It is rather funny to get a call mid-afternoon being scolded for buying more MF towels under the call "I have to test them for work purposes"....

Well guys, I got my AG package yesterday when I got home (my first 1/2 Summer Friday at 1:00), but the unfortunate part is I came home to a house with broken windows on backdoor off of kitchen and $8,000 of missing electronics in my home. They took off with our new 46 inch LCD HDTV and our 2 Dell XPS M1730 gaming laptops (I am kicking myself becuase our laptops came with LoJack to track them by gps and my husband and I did not install it as our laptops stay at home and do leave the house) Ugh! I am at the office right now, since this is the only computer I have now, and filling out paperwork to send to Detective. I just wanted to check in. Sniffle Sniffle.

i hate to hear that, don't let that get you down. Things will get better. Hopefully, they'll find the thieves and return your merchandise without a scratch.

sorry to hear .... remember to visit your homeowners insurance policy as in most cases the laptops are covered. Just remember to close any accounts, credit cards, or info that could be found on harddrives like banking records.

Very sorry to hear that, let us know if you need anything, there is a large cast of people on this forum from all different backgrounds, so we are here to assist with whatever we can do to help you out. We even had a couple Dell employees that can maybe help with your laptop replacement.
