I have been wanting to create a detailing cart for some time, but haven't done anything about it. I want as large as is reasonable and two shelves. What I am finding on the internet cost about $160.

Just out of curiosity, I stopped by the local used office furniture store this afternoon to see if they dealt with such things. Luckily, they do, and they had one. Just what I had been pricing on the internet. It is 26' wide, 36" long plus another 6" for the handle, and 33" high. It is a bit worse for wear, however, nothing that I can"t make right. The price?..............$38! And it is a Rubbermaid brand.

If you are wanting a detail cart, buying a used one like I did is an alternative for you.

I wouldn't use anything metal by paint.

I've got the red metal HF one, I replaced two of the casters with Locking ones I had laying around for this reason. That still didn't sit quite right with me after I scuffed some paint with my electric leaf blower, so I got a pack of those "foam noodles" that you use in the pool. Cut them in half and zip tied them to the corners.

I sleep better at night now.

Still spent less than most stores would charge you for a decent cart. And, being painted red, I can put a layer of wax on that bad boy! Ha!
