What detailing gloves do most of you professional detailer/weekend warriors use? I'm talking about nitrile gloves. I was searching the web, and the only ones I found/liked so far (but haven't used yet) are called Gator Skin. What do you use, and where do you get them locally (Home Depot or other hardware stores)?

TIA.

I just pick up a box of nitrile gloves from Sam's Club. Tried the latex ones, but I like the non-latex ones better. Use them for clay bar, tire dressing, and engine cleaning.

I would recommend wearing a pair of latex cloves while detailing to protect your hands from the chemicals used. Besides road grime, tar and grease are very difficult to remove from underneath your fingernails. Outside of the garage your hands shouldn't look like you need lessons in personal grooming. Dura-Grip Brand, 8 mil Latex; powder free contour fit, with fully textured fingers and palms - Eppco Enterprises, Inc. - http://www.eppco.net/duragrip.html

Thanks, but I'd rather stay with nitrile gloves, as they are more resistant to chemicals. I'll check out my local Sam's Club and Costco.

Harbor Freight has Nitrile gloves ...and you can usually find them on sale for ~$8 for a box of 100. They have a light textured surface and are a nice thickness.

YMMV

Spoken like someone that's spent to much time sniffiing their products. ;)

But seriously, this thread made me think about you... if I don't want to get the stuff on my hands, is it really a safe and healthy thing to inhale (or to bathe in;))?

sure:p as long as ther not caustic harsh chemicals then i dont see any harm. you wont see me smelling acid wheel cleaners. a/g chemicals are user freindly . un like the ones i used to use which were high volume caustic chemicals. those you dont want to be sniffing.

Tom, have you been drinking shampoo???:D

I think he has been using those pumps to much. You know obsessive compulsive disorder. LOL!

got myself a box of 100 at local Home Depot today for $14.

I can understand people in your typical dealership quality detail shop using gloves with the stuff they have to use but not once have I used gloves
Anything that requires me to use gloves, I wouldn't buy and use on vehicles anyway

Microflex Black Dragon Nitrile gloves purchased from Microflex

I use these. Very durable and can get 2 days of detailing out of one pair.

Do you buy these locally or online?

The cheap ones I have can't make it through two wheels or sometimes break pulling them on.
