Good Afternoon AG's,

I'm researching mobile units. At this time I don't want a van that's dedicated to detailing. I'm leaning more towards using a truck or suv and installing a skid mount unit. This way, I have the best of both worlds, a moving billboard/detailing truck and still a fully functioning automobile for general use, while still advertising!

I've came across the detailing skid mount units put together by rightlookdotcom. I hope that listing this site isn't a no no. Anyway, I called today, to inquire on the cost. They start at 4k and can go as high as 8k depending upon the upgrades and additional options you put into it. Does anyone have any experience with this company and/or product? Is this price about right or high? Is it worth it?

Could it be built for less and yet just as high quality?

Thanks, Kieran

For that amount of money, you're MUCH better off buying yourself a nice little trailer; you'll still have the ability to use your automobile for general use...simply hook up the trailer when you're working and leave it somewhere when you aren't.

You could also place magnets on the side of your vehicle for when you want to advertise without pulling a trailer. Good luck.

I am so new at this that I am not qualified to talk about companies or products. However, I have been doing pressure washing and have a skid mounded pressure washer in the back of my truck so I can talk about that.

First, your equipment will be available for people to pick through and take in parking lots! Next, it is constantly exposed to the elements. Third, it renders the pickup aspect of the truck useless as it is full of equipment.

Benefits are: people see the equipment and associate it to your signage. You don't have to load and unload constantly.

My solution: I placed my pressure washer on a heavy duty yard cart so I could wheel it onto the truck when I wanted to take it. I can also include a 55-gal drum on a dolly with a pump and marine battery if I need a softer wash and it all looks good going down the road (and not easy for someone to take)

Just some ideas from someone so new he doesn't know 1/10th of 1% of anything!

Why not a 5x10 or 6x12 trailer? I have a 6x12 and have TONS of room, plus had it wrapped and it is a great advertisement. See my website for pics.

I looked at right look. It is expensive. You can buy skid mounts at Northern tool for a lot less.

ANY PHOTOS of your set up or anyone else have photos of self built units?
