Washed my car with two buckets method and then applied DG 105 with a brand new LC Think Pro white pad. The attached photo is the pad used for half small hatchback and washed.

Is the staining normal? How can I clean the pad better?

I understand DG 105 got cleanser in it, but does the severe staining imply I didn't wash the car thoroughly enough? Thanks for the advice.

Yeah, that's normal, and you probably won't be able to get it much cleaner than that. Your washing was probably fine, that's what we call "embedded dirt". Did you clay the car? That will likely help some.

Thanks a lot. Didn't clay the car due to limited time, but shall clay next time since it had been a year since last clayed and I could feel the dirt during baggie test..

I find 105 to be an powerful chemical cleaner. As such, the pad is dirty from all the road grime pulled out that wasn't removed during your regular wash. It's a GREAT "AIO" for those wanting some paint cleaning action but don't have access to a machine polisher.

So true,it's easy to use and offer good protection as well!

The difference in color from the cleaning that DG105 and DG501 provide can be really dramatic on a white car.

I like to do a chemical decon wash to get as much as possible of the contaminant off. Starts with a traffic film remover TFR prewash foam from the foamcannon and PW with useing the water pressure from the PW to clean the paint with. Then a tar remover to the side panels and the back of the car. And then an iron remover to get the oxidized iron particals off with the PW. Moving on with claying the car and as of late with a clay mitt and a clay block. This IME does get you a cleaner surface to polish on. And gets you a cleaner pad too since you don't have that much of the embedded contaminants left. Is the pad squeeqe clean? No but much cleaner than if not doing those decon steps. Is it necessary to do those decon steps when you still get it cleaned by the pad and polish? Yes I think so cause if you would get say a tar spot that has a little sand stone in it. You can do alot of damage if you are unlucky to get that. So it's a insurance to do the decons before polishing. Often you will be fine. But that time you don't you will regret that you did not be so thorough with getting the paint as clean as possible before touching it.
