My wife had a little parking lot accident while backing up her G8 recently. We dropped the car off at the body shop 3 weeks ago yesterday when leaving for vacation, and we picked it up Monday of last week after we returned. The rear bumper cover had to be replaced, and we had the shop respray the mirrors because of clear coat failure. We also had them touch up and fix all the dents, dings, and paint chips we had accumulated. The shop did a good job on the repair, and did a great job buffing the car! It really looked nice.

I washed the car tonight for the first time since the repair. I broke out the hose and regular car wash soap due to the new paint on the bumper and mirrors. I used Megs Gold Class since that was the only traditional soap I had.

I used Uber rinseless mixed as a QD on one side of the car,and DG rinseless mixed as a QD on the other just for comparison in regards to looks. It was getting dark so in my haste to get finished I got careless and sprayed the mirror on the DG side with the QD. Did not spray anything on the rear bumper cover.

I know this is not as bad as a regular wax,but I'm still a little worried about the paint not outgassing now. Did I mess up very badly? We finally got the peeling clear issue fixed, and now I'm worried I may have screwed up the paint right off the bat.

As a side note, the PFM drying towel from Griot's Garage lives up to the hype. Very impressive! I told my wife she could get me another one for my birthday!

rewash the mirrors or areas you used the DG RW and don't use anything after other than a microfiber towel to lightly wipe it down/dry. i almost found myself doing the same thing after washing the car...

I'm a regular user of DG Rinseless and last September had about half of my Black Lacrosse DD repainted due to an accident. I used only OCW to wax for the first few months, as Dr. G confirmed it was safe for fresh paint. I did weekly rinseless washes with DG, since I was more concerned about reducing the chance for any bonded contaminants, bird droppings etc. to harm the fresh paint than about the minuscule amount of wax content in the DG. Absolutely no ill effects noticed and it's a couple weeks shy of a year since the repaint.
