Did I ruin my leather

Used my steamer for the first time on my leather. I did my research and thought I was being very conservative with the steam and fast with my hand movement

It feels very textured now. Is there anything I can do to return it to normal?

It's wrinkled and wavey,maybe time will tell.

I would try to recondition it at least to bring back some life into it. Hope it works out for you.

Like said try reconditioning the seat a few times before final decision also after conditioning seat try to park in a sunny place so the interior/leather pores open and absorb the conditioner

Try some leather conditioner, and I really mean massage it in, put some rubber gloves on, and go too town.
