So, I was using OPT Hyperpolish to correct some light paint defects (Orange and blue hybrid/hydrotech pads). I did some cleaning on the fly. I was called away before I got a chance to really clean pads so I put some pad cleaner on them, then put into a bucket with dawn. I didn't plan to let them sit long, but it was two days before I got to clean them. Are they ruined? Will soaking in water destroy the pad?

I did that once a couple years ago. It was the end of the season (mid october), and I left a couple white ccs pad to soak. I had forgotten about them, and by that time, the water had evaporated. Finally, that spring I re-created them, and they were just fine.

I would say no. I've let pads sit in a bucket of solution for many days (because life sometimes pulls us away) and simply rinsed them with no issues. FWIW, I typically use LC hybrids.

I've left my pads (B&S) soaking in Dawn for a couple of days on numerous occasions with no ill effects.

Looks like you already got your answer but i have done the same thing and have never lost a pad on my watch! Clean them out, let them dry and they will be good to go!

*re-cleaned* not re-created....

Stinkin' spellcheck..

I smile every time I see that picture of Ravishing Rude:)

Ha!!! That mullet and mustache...

"Stop the music. Now it's time to take off my robe, and show the pads how you really clean them..... Hit the music."

Been there and done that. No harm.

However, I did manage to ruin a couple last year after I cleaned them. I didn't realize there was some moisture deep within them when I sealed them in their ziplocs, and two weeks later when I pulled them out they were all mouldy and fuzzy. Yech.

Then I called Nick for a deal on a Flex and bought a swack of Hybrids, so I still win. :)
