I know Swirl X works simular to a polish but was not sure if UP was comparable.

Thanks all as always!

From Meguiar's,

  • Ultimate Polish is a higher glossing polish (richer in polishing oils)
  • Ultimate Polish is less aggressive than SwirlX
  • Ultimate Polish is lighter finishing polish with the ability to refine the finish to a higher level
  • Ultimate Polish offers easier wipe-off...

:)

Thank you,

Would you recomend Ultimate Polish as a good follow up after Swirl X?

There are soo many products out there it's hard to find the perfect system

I just used UP last weekend on my Griots to follow up Meg UC and thought it did a good job enhancing shine.

I might suggest Ultimate Compound followed by Ultimate Polish as a combo.

Here's the Meguiar's Ultimate trio designed to play in the sandbox together.

Knowing Meguiar's, I would say the above would be a good synergistic chemical compatibility and I'm confident that Meguiar's tested the above products in that order as a system-approach for the average person to get good results.

I would inspect the paint after the compounding step for any hazing and if discovered, be sure the polish is removing all of the hazing, (if any), before tackling the entire car.

It's called... the "Test Spot"

how about inserting SwirlX between UC and UP?

That is an nnecessary amount of steps. Either do UC and SX or UC an UP. Not all 3.

I used UC and SX combo with good results before UP came along.
