I am oredering Menz Power Gloss for my brother in laws 1989 red chevy truck (without a doubt the worst oxidation/scratches I've ever seen)and was wondering if I need to purchase Menz for the next polishing levels or is it O.K. to use the XMT line which I already have (all but #4). Money is a concern so if I dont have to get SIP,IP or Final Polish that would be great, but I am concerned about compatability. Thanks so much.

IMO Xmt is not in the same league as Menzerna, sure Xmt will work but nothing at this time can beat Menzerna in terms of quality and consistency. There's a reason the German OEM automakers use it in their plants.

While I'm not familiar with either product, I can tell you I have been using produts from different manufacturers on the same vehicle for years with only one problem in that time.
3M Hand Glaze under Meguiar's M06 made a mess, but at no time have I had a problem other than that. And that could have been an operator problem. :)
I usually try one section of a job with the products I plan to use to make sure I'm getting the results I'm looking for before I do the entire vehicle. If it looks good on that area, then move on to the rest of the vehicle.

It sounds like it could work given the polishes on hand. Your using the Menzerna compound for heavy oxidation and cutting, then the XMT polishes to remove lighter micromarring and smaller scratches. I think it sounds more than reasonable and with PowerGLOSS now in smaller size might be just the ticket. If you do decide to go with another lighter Menzerna Polish you could followup with PowerFINISH also. That also is now offered in smaller size.
