Its fine. No change needed.

NO.

When the PC started its' life, it was a sander. Due to the different size sanding pads and weights of the backing plate/sandpaper combination AND the greater friction from sanding; the different counterweights were needed.

For 'our' use, it has been pretty well established that the different counterweights aren't needed.

The counterweight does seem to make using the 6" BP 6.5" pad combination smoother, BUT you need to change back to the 5" counterweight when you go back to smaller pads or it will rattle your teeth out of your skull... The counterweight is cheap enough that its worth trying out for yourself, but its by no means something I would call a necessity. More of an inconvenience IMO…

Hey Geeks... Wait, I guess I missed it when doing my "homework", but I thought that all of the backing plates (3", 5", 6") used the same counterweight. Help me out.

They do. I was mistaken in my previous post.
