I have 2 bottles of cherry scented IronX and was wondering could I dilute it with distilled water at a 1:1 ratio and still have it be fairly effective? I wanted to ask those who've done this their thoughts on this. I'm not trying to cheap out but as strong as this stuff is I'm wondering could I get 75% of the power mixing it to go twice as long?

Also, can you mix ISP with it instead of water to stretch it out?

BTW I used this full strength in the past and like everyone else says, it works amazing, just thinking out loud here, thanks to everyone inadvance:props:

Yeah I mean't the ISP into the Iron-X to stretch it out, that's all. If I really can't dilute down the Iron-X without it causing too much harm to its effectiveness I'll just use it as your supposed to normally.

Thank you :props:

I've been using IronX paste diluted 1:4 with distilled water for a couple years. It is effective and more economical that way.

I just use the IronX 500ml spray bottle and mix 3:12 a day or two before a detail so it has time to fully emulsify

Not sure I understand which dilution you're using.

•Diluting Iron-X?
IMHO:
-It'll probably still work, but not as "effectively":
That is to say: More than one diluted-application
may become necessary.
-It's even recommended to be applied
to a dry surface (please see below note)

Note...
(From the Carpro Website):

Directions:

A. Use outside or with sufficient ventilation.

B. Use latex or Nitrile gloves, and face protection.

C. If there is an inordinate amount of tree sap, tar, other organic material, wax, or sealants on the vehicle I recommend you strip them first with TarX so Iron X can attack the ferrous particles without any interference. This is not required but is how I like to do it for best results.

D. For best results apply to a mostly dry surface.
A few drops of water is ok.

•IPA is a solvent.

-But I see no benefit of adding it as a
supplement to Iron-X's already potent
ferrous-contaminates-dissolving formulation.

Thanks Bob and everyone else, just going to use it straight👈

Considering you can use Iron-X as a snow foam I wouldn't think a small dilution would be a problem. It's CLEAR that the snow foam doesn't have the strength/smell of the 500ml product yet it still works just fine.

Not sure though why you'd want to mix alcohol with it. :dunno:

Looking at both the most common permanent wave solutions (which is what Iron-X really is) neither have any alcohol in them. Both can be dangerous enough as is!

If you want to strech out how many applications you can get from a bottle just spread it out with a small sponge rather than covering every inch with direct sprar.

From the Carpro website "2.-You can cover the surface with Iron X by spraying it everywhere but that can be wasteful. I recommend that you spray as needed and spread it with a small sponge or applicator to cover the entire surface. You may also consider using an atomizer type spray bottle or HVLP gun. In any case evenly cover the surfaces you wish to decontaminate. The product is strong so you don’t have to be wasteful. Just make sure it contacts the entire surface."
