I bought a 2006 Z06 a few months ago.
It came with a custom fitted Z06 cover.
My concern is that the previous owner didn't always dust the car off before covering it. I polished out the finish that had a lot of fine scratches.
I'm worried that the inside of the cover may be contaminated with grit that could scratch the care when I put it on.
So far I have been driving it often enough that I don't bother covering it, but now that it's winter, it may sit a little more.
Should I take it to a public laudermat and wash it in one of the big washers?
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Al

Yes.

Wash it with Woolite, warm water. And run it through an entire second wash/rinse cycle.

I have a 7 year old tan flannel car cover and it is holding up just fine and I have washed it five times. But I never put it on a dusty car. When I get back from a drive I let it cool off and go over it with quick detail. And I have always used a method of removing and installing the cover that doesn't drag it across the paint. I fold it up toward the middle of the roof starting at the front and then the back of the car. Then I put it on a towel and fold the towel over it to keep it clean. And I go one more step toward being ridiculous about it. I put a sheet of clear plastic over the covered car to keep the dust off the cover.

Anything is worth the trouble to keep from adding any more swirls.
