Distilled water as final rinse to avoid water spots

Hi all,
Thinking about saving a few hundred by getting a Worx hydroshot and giving a finial rinse with distilled water. Would it work in eliminating water spots? With the Worx running a $69.00 and distilled water at $1. would it be a way to go without investing $300. or $400. on a DI and expense of resin? Deciding on which way to go..

I just purchased a dual bed deionized water system. I purchased this to make my city water spot free. If I had a smaller budget and regular sized vehicles I would get a Ik 9 liter type sprayer and use ONR as my rinse if drying with microfiber. Are you just blowing or blow and dry? If just blowing you need the spot free water and distilled may work for you? Hope that you can stay on budget as my pursuit of a better system put me in the thousands. A new well than a trailer to haul city water and now the addition of a DI system.:autowash:

In Florida where the sun and water spots is a major issue I just hand dry really fast, blowers are worthless they take too long (I have the original DP Dryer) and I have super hard water.

Yeah a 10 dollar garden sprayer is much cheaper than a 69 dollar hydro shot.

Some of those who have the DI system love it. It saves from drying the vehicle, and you can wash in the sun. Now, the Worx & a bucket do the same thing, but you're the only person who has to judge whether you would be happy with that arrangement, or if you should have just dropped the coin and purchased a true DI system.
On a side note, humping the water around in a bucket might become annoying as someone has already mentioned, and buying distilled water often, might also become annoying.
Consider this, it is a hot day and you're washing in the sun, then hard water & soap start to dry & cause spotting. When this happens, the race begins to battle the sun while washing and rinsing. That's annoying.
Having said all that, a true DI system is well worth the money in my eyes. Being able to wash in the sun is priceless.
