Only if the glass really, really needs to be polished, that is.

I like to polish out the glass first for the fact that you wont have to polish the paint twice cause of an accident

+1. And you often have to reach or lean to do glass which could cause a problem for rubbing against corrected paint. If you haven't corrected the paint yet, no worries.
