Do you tape over bumper sensors when polishing?

I've been cutting out slightly oversized circles of tape to paste over the round proximity sensors in bumpers, but wonder whether other people bother with that?

There are round holes cut in the bumper where the sensors inserts from the backside, so there's a small gap where polish could potentially build up. But maybe it takes less time to remove whatever small amount of residue is left than cutting out the tape circles?

Just put a small square of tape over it and let it roll. Saves time and in most cases can't be noticed. The reason i say this is because i got tired of spending 30-45 min on sensors.

Mytee Firebird Steamer after polishing to blast out all these areas on my Denali and then on to start the interior detail while my WGDGPS is drying (45 minutes).

Mind is just a square indentation. Bumper, dip to square, raise back to square at normal bumper height. No actual seam. Just make sure to wipe it out like you would anything else.

Are most steam cleaners safe to use on paint?

Just wondering about the heat these things make.

Most streamers crank out 215° stream which is more than safe for cured automotive paint.
