I have a brand new, never opened Mother's Claybar kit. Bought it roughly 15 years ago and never used it.

Could this still be usable or is it garbage now? I don't mind buying a new kit but hate to throw out $20.

I have a bunch of clay bars even older and am wondering the same.

I’d say if the clay is still soft/plastic or the original consistency then it is GTG.

If the product has separated or changed colors. I’d just buy a new kit

Try using it. If your clay starts crumbling tiny pieces off bit by bit as you use it, it's gone bad.

If the clay is still wrapped, see if it's pliable. If pliable, it should be okay. Try a small test spot in an inconspicuous area before using.

How was it stored? In moderate temperatures or in the garage with big temperature swings?

This applies to the lubricant as well - instant detailer is one product that can be shaken if frozen, unlike many waxes, compounds and wheel cleaners.
