I am trying something new after 2 bucket wash finish still seems gritty so I am washing then nanospoge using #135 mirorglaze then dry with microfibre leaves nice smooth finish. Is this a good idea? this is wifes dd outside 24/7 it has been glazed then topped with collanite 845 and after that I use express wax or megs ultimate once a monthFeed back please so the above is just with weekly washes. I just cant stand washing and not feeling real smooth finish is this wrong?Feed back please

Are you using the Fine Grade Nanoskin Autoscrub Sponge?

I use the orange medium grade it seems to work better for me I also use this to clay before applying the 845 or wax.
lsp seem to not be affected but that is part of what I am asking can it? it just seems to make finish so much smoother and as I either use the 135 when nanoing or express wax to finish after it is hard to tell but last time I did this to my truck also out 24/7 it looked pretty good even when I let it sit 8 weeks without washing
also do the nano and 135 on windows every wash and it works great

I was told any kind of clay baring step would remove nearly everything on the surface. Only leaving LSPs in the cracks.

If I understand this correctly, you are using Meguiar's M135 with a nanoskin sponge. It is recommended to not use M135 as clay lube as it is to slick, which will not allow a clay bar or clay alternative to pick up surface contaminants. This is information comes from meguiar's online.

This may be true but it does make the surface much smoother than just using the 135 and microfiber.
What is the best way to get surface nice and smooth? as just washing and drying still leaves what feels like grit. or is this just OCD when I wash I want it to feel smooth like a baby's bottom

All I do is clay, correct, protect, wash and maintain. I clay and correct twice a year on my daily driver. Surface contaminants are going to happen especially if the car sits outside or see the outside world.

I think the issue with using M135 Synthetic Spray Detailer as a clay lube is that it lubricates the surface too well and a clay bar, or in this example a Nanoskin Sponge will merely glide over the surface instead of abrading off the offending contaminants.

Clay and tools like Nanoskin products remove contaminants by primarily abrading them off not pulling them off.

Thanks for the advice. My thoughts about using the 135 were that I just sealed with 845 4 weeks ago and didn't want to remove it just the contaminants sitting on top after washing that I could still feel, so I guess what I am asking is what is the best way to remove these?? or do I just have to accept them until I want to clay and reseal? using the method I tried seemed to work and leave the 845 in tact or so I thought. ps car is washed every week but live in very dirty area

Puget sound area, 1/2 mile from railroad,lumber mill,my backyard is forest have had times when I washed car and 15 minutes later it was lime green from tree pollen, rains or mists at least once every couple of days. the upside is no water shortage so water not a problem
