im looking for something over the counter to use by hand on my door handles (to take out fingernail scratches). i trieds megs ultimate compound with a MF and it worked on 2 cars flawlessly, but wouldlnt take the scratches out on my civic. (weird, i thought honda clear was soft)

does scratch-x have more cut than ultimate compound? is there anything else you guys could recommend for door handle scratches thats over the counter?

ill be buying m105 and m205 soon, but want something otc for now.

Yes. UC has more cut than ScratchX

Maybe try using some claybar under the doorhandles, has worked for me many times.

Do you have any light cutting pads, if so try a piece of a pad. It will add to the cut of the UC. I save my old worn out pads, cut them into pieces and use them for polishing under door handles. It works very well.

Has worked for me in the past. Wouldn't be removing "scratches" but marks left behind by finger nails. Nail polish or just deposits from ends of finger nails (not actual scratches)

Others here have made some good points. Too add to those......Perhaps try using terry cloth than the MF and that may help. Terry is a bit more aggressive than MF. You may have to go back over with a MF tho.
