I've been thinking of ordering some PB's Natty's blue for my black colored car. Now I have read about how some waxes help to repel dust. I have also read in a thread, a different forum, someone stating that Natty's blue attracts more dust than other waxes. My question is how much truth is there to any of this? Do some waxes really help repel or attract dust? Would it even be something I would notice? Any input would be appreciated.

I don't notice much dust attraction using Nattys Blue, and I live across the beach and take roads that have some sand/dirt on them from the beach etc. The dust on the wax is well normal, any wax that's heavy in oils like NB, or Souv etc may have more of an attraction to dust from the oils. But nothing exc essive, I can go a week w/o washing and only have a very light layer of dust on the vehicle that you basically can't even see.

Not that I don't enjoy my PB's NB wax, but I would consider purchasing Pinnacle Sig Series II or Pinnacle Soveran, to really make the paint POP!

Also consider MaxWax and Meg's #21 are also good products.

Yeah I've also been considering MaxWax, everyone really seems to like it. Soveran might be a little to rich for me right now but I would like to try it eventually. The truch is there are so many good choices and only one car :D.

Max Wax costs the same as Liquid Souveran. So I went with Souveran.

I say Max Wax. That is my favorite wax when considering cost.

Whatever wax you choose, just top it with FK425. It has anti-static properties that do work.

However, it does not repel dust, nor has any wax/QD I've tried. What it does is negate any static charge that attracts dust. And from the products I've tried that's the best you can hope for.

I just got my bottle of Liquid Souveran in and I put one coat on top of my paint sealed tacoma and.............. Words can't express the difference :) This forum and it's reviews are real, so go ahead and make the purchase. My truck was slick don't get me wrong but under all that black are multi colored pearls or metallics and Liquid Souveran brought them out like you wouldn't believe. I believe my truck color is (Black Sand Pearl) 06 Tacoma.

:iagree:
Anti-Static Detail Spray:
Finish Kare- 425 Spray Detailer – http:// www.fk1usa.com is produced with polymer resins, lubricants, Ulra violet radiation (UVR) inhibitors and patented anti-static agents that gently remove fingerprints, smudges, and other light contaminates while creating reduced dust attraction. For use on paint, glass, chrome, gel coat, fibreglass and Plexiglas (See also Car Duster)

Note- the use of polyester towels and friction on any surface will cause static, this can be avoided by using a 100% cotton towel (http//:www.DFTowel.com)

You're probably right, its the only reasonable and logical thing for me to do. I'm just going to have to buy one of each, LOL. Thanks for the input everyone.

That's what I'm doing.. In a few years, when some waxes retire, discontinue, etc. the value will increase, and from time to time, you can pick up a few extra bucks..

My car gets dirty just sitting in the garage from dust. It is entirely hopeless! Pull it out and wash it again with the right products, taking care not to swirl it!
Good luck!
Lauren

never met a car that didnt seem to attract dust naturally. Seems the nature of the beast.
