Door jamb grease

Weird question, but I bought my truck new earlier this year and there seems to be some sort of grease all over the door jambs. I assume it's from the factory, maybe the hinges, and just gets smeared when I wipe down the jambs.

Anyone got a good recommendation for cleaning this stuff off? Something that's both paint/rubber safe? I was thinking maybe IPA
 
It's often a clear waxoyl, prevents corrosion at the hinges but there is often over spray.
To remove a terry towell to pick up the bulk of the material and once you get to a thin film then apply degreaser to a seperate terry towel and wipe the surfaces you want clear...
After that a wipe with IPA then some sprayxwax and buff to stop crap sticking between washes..

WD40 will cut RIGHT through any grease, as it was originally created as a degreasing agent.
 
Keep in mind if you use a great deal of cleaner/degreaser, you may remove the grease from the hinge itself where it's needed and end up with squeaky doors. Do whatever you must to remove the excess, but if you find that you did use a lot of degreaser in that area, consider reapplying some kind of lubricant. White-Lithium spray grease seems to be popular for that application; however, I'm still undecided on what the "perfect" door hinge grease is. Ideally it would be clear AND dry, haven't come across anything like that locally yet. If you do end up re-applying some kind of grease, you can just wipe the excess off so that you don't end up with the build-up you're seeing now.
 
Won't be doing a lot of degreasing, just enough to get the thin film off around the jambs. I've always had good luck with fluid film as a lubricant.
 
Hence I said apply to the towel and wipe off.. NOT spray the whole area and mop up...
