Greetings all!

Here is my latest work, a Volvo S60R in Flash Green. The car has nearly 90,000 miles on the odometer. The car had been cleaned, decontaminated and deironed (by me) just a few weeks before this detail.

Wheels were cleaned with MINT+ and a variety of wheel brushes

The vehicle was washed with FLAKE. While this is more of a maintenance wash, the majority of decontamination had been dealt with just a few weeks before.

The following gif shows how FLAKE dissolves into warm water.

To ensure the vehicle was still decontaminated, IRON SERUM was used. The wipe-on application does not show as much of the red-streaky iron removal but is still very effective and efficient. I used about 40ml over the whole vehicle. And as a bonus, the smell is a strong mint so it is quite pleasant to work with.

I applied a little heavy in this area to demonstrate its effectiveness/get the runny look.

The engine bay was given a wipe-down with polishangel ENGINE. This was not an extensive engine detail but it cleaned up very nicely.

The paint was compounded with polishangel Master Compound and the Lambswool Ultra Cut pad on the RUPES LHR21

The Taillights were worked out with the same combination on the RUPES LHR75

For this detail, Cosmic, Viking Coat (not available in the US), & Viking Shield were all used for protection :)

This Volvo may have mid/high mileage but with all the work you put into it you would not know it has 90 thousand miles

BO$$! You killed it Travis. Enjoy seeing your work. :dblthumb2:

Excellent work Travis! Where was Viking Shield applied?

Holy, you made a boring looking car and color (sorry, it was my opinion on the beginning) into a show car, beautiful and exciting car and color!

The richness of details in your write up made it very enjoyable to read and follow, however I do not know any of those angels you've used, so I just read their names wondering 'wow, cosmic!'... hahaha

Nice setups on the Rupes as well, very wise choices.

By the way, looks like the products are top notch and delivered, but IMO the main factor in this job was you, your efforts made the whole difference.

Congratulations on this work, car looks awesome.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Jake!!

Excellent work Travis! Where was Viking Shield applied?

I didn't have any pictures of the Viking Shield application but it was applied to the entire paint surface just like Viking Coat & Cosmic.

Rain | 9H was also applied to the windshield a few weeks ago.

I agree that at first the car is very subtle and before I started the color wash just an off shade of silver. The work plus the color-matched coating really made the color much more eye-catching.

Viking Shield can be layered over the top of Cosmic? Can Viking Shield be used on chrome?

You really brought the Volvo back to life :xyxthumbs:

Yes & Yes! Viking Shield over Cosmic is one of the most popular combinations!

Thank you!!

Very cool! I'm sure glad I snagged the limited edition 50ml of Viking Shield :dblthumb2:

Appreciate your answering, I'd take a further look on those combinations you've used, looks really interesting.

Thanks for coming over with new ideas,

Best Wishes

Nice !!!

That thing seems to have an interesting glow to it. Is this due to the color match Cosmic?

That's awesome!!! So how do you color match the coating?

You get Cosmic in single-color and specify your vehicles specific color code and then the German engineers work some kind of angel-magic and voila, a coating for your color. :)

Beautiful job. Keep up the great work.

Thanks!!

I think a lot of it is due to the color-matching, yes. Before I started work on it, the car looked to be a bland off-silver. After polishing, it became a lot more glossy but the coating is what really brought out the color.

Wow, awesome work! I've never seen a detail with all Polish Angel supplies--they have pretty cool names :-)

Mehhh. I don't think it looks that good.

JK!

Excellent Travis! Great gloss on a light coloured car! Good write up too!

I need one of those shirts now lol

Some of the names are a little funny but I like them. "Engine" is probably the most straight forward!

Can I be you neighbor?
Great job!

Sure thing! Thanks!!
