I have a regular customer who stopped by the other day, and showed me where a milk shake had been spilled in the back of her car. It went into the speaker on the door, and is now caked in the speaker grille. I'd prefer not to push the remnants into the speaker itself, but I'm not sure how to remove/clean this without doing so. Any help would be appreciated

:iagree: Anything you spray will get in further.

That's my concern. I'm sure there is already some of it in there that is now at the bottom of the speaker in a dried blob....so maybe I won't be doing any harm.

Remove dirty parts, clean, dry and replace.

You Tube videos if you can't disassemble.

Pop the door panel off. It's easier than you think.

Like Paul said above, plenty of YT vids on it.

Short of taking it apart like others have recommended, and that is likely the correct recommendation, you could try softening the contaminant with a wet towel in contact with the speaker grill for several minutes. Then wipe away what you can.

You could also try a shop vac after the softening process. Even a sprayer w/water in combo with the shop vac.

Yo do this right, you need to remove the panel. While you may get it to look clean with out removing, you risk having foul odors coming from what’s behind the panel.

Just charge accordingly!

I have found the Ninja style scrub pads/mitts to be really good on speaker grills, I'm using the Carpro one below.

You are most likely going to need to neutralize the protein from the milk though, which will probably involve some disassembly.
