Can i use drinking alcohol to remove sealant around my rock chips so i can put on touch up paint?

You would need to dilute down to about 10-15% (20-30 proof) but it would work. More concentrated alcohol could get under the paint via the chip and loosen or somewhat "melt" the paint potentially causing damage. Also the longer you left the alcohol sit the greater the risk.

Alcohol you drink is ethanol, the stuff you use on paint is isopropyl. Isopropyl cost like $2, so I would just go with that.

However, IME alcohol won't remove most sealants anyway.

Agreed. Ethanol is industrially available as IDA or IMS, typically sold as methylated spirits. In theory they are cheaper than IPA.

Don't waste the good drinking alcohol on your paint!

I enjoy drinking a beer while doing a final buff after sealant application. Or during sealant application. Or during polishing. Or...

I usually use IPA. Stone, Fat Tire, and Sierra Nevada are excellent. Also shock top apple wheat or lemon shandy. :)
