Hope someone can help. I am new to detailing and only take care of my personal vehicles. My wifes 2011 Audi Q5 has drip stains under the side mirrors that I can not get out. I have tried Wolfgang Paint conditioner, Pinnacle Crystal Mist and washing to remove.
(all by hand, I own a PC)
When the car was new I applied 2 coats of Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant and topped it off with 2 coats Pinnacle Souvern. 3 months later I top coated with a new coat of Souvern. I wash it with Wolfgang Auto Bathe and wipe on Pinnacle Crystal Mist after most every wash.

What can I try to determine if it is in the wax or in the paint. If in the paint, what do I do?
Thanks for any advice!

If the "drip" stains are from water, then use a spray bottle filled with a 50-50 solution of white vinegar. It has acetic acid in it and it will dissolve mineral deposits that are not too heavy. Repeated applications can remove some hard water stains, but if the stains are still there, you need to then try an overspray or detailing clay bar with lots of water (I would not use "clay bar lube" only because pure water helps dissolve the minerals). Keep the hose running while you run the clay in one direction back and forth to see if the stain is removed.

If the stains are STILL there, then I would turn to 3M Perfect-it rubbing compound, first with the softer (fine) cut then with the heavy cut for overspray removal only if the first one yields incomplete results. Normally used with a machine polisher, but for this you can do it by hand. Do not rub hard, just circular motion, and use a spray bottle filled with plain water to moisten the area as the compound dries. When it is mostly gone, wipe clean with a clean towel and a spray bottle filled with 50-50 isopropyl alcohol/water.

Follow with 3M hand glaze, or there are other glazes out there you could use if you can't find the 3M hand glaze. You can then seal and/or wax with whatever you like to use. :buffing:

Just buff it.....get it over with....next time blow out the water with a blower

Buy the metro 8hp blower.....and blow out those mirror after a car wash.....sure you can stand in the rain and blow out all the water off the car....if you get shock, don't blame me...

Stains can sometimes be stubborn and require a little more than washing or a detail spray.

You mentioned that you tried Wolfgang Paint Conditioner, I'm not familiar with this product and don't see it listed. I would suggest you try a paint cleaner as these are formulated to clean the finish by removing old layers of wax and surface film. You might also want to try a diluted all purpose cleaner.

If you like Wolfgang products give Wolfgang Paintwork Polish Enhancer a try or stop by your store and try a generic paint cleaner. Be sure it's mixed well and use it with a soft cloth rubbing it over the stain and this should take care of it..

[/IMG]Bobby - sorry for the mislabel. It ws the Wolfgang Paintwork Polish Enhancer.
I will give it another try along with the hard water recommendations.
The car gets washed almost weekly and I stay on top of any water drips. Hard to believe it happened in such a short time.
Here is a picture or the stain
