I listen to a number of podcasts while I'm working, this being one I stumbled across this morning.

"Ride shotgun with Ford CEO Jim Farley as he talks to some of his favorite people about what they drive and what drives them to succeed."

Episodes can be listened to via your podcast app of choice, or via YouTube.

The episode with the delightful Vicki Butler-Henderson was pure joy. I grew up watching her alongside Tiff Needle on 5th Gear, her enthusiasm was infectious.

It's refreshing to see a car company executive being so engaged with the automotive community, from employees to customers, media to motorsport.

I wonder if she asked him off mic about getting back to making fun cars again

VBH is awesome, enjoyed watching 5th Gear with her, Tiff, Jason Plato and Johnny Smith

This one of my favorites, Aston Martin Vanquish S................................

Or this one teaching her mother to drive a Lambo, followed by a hot lap.......................................

That's twice I've heard that podcast mentioned today, I was listening to Car Chat from TFL, and they were talking about how different car company CEOs handle publicity differently. Jim Farley is out front talking up Ford and it's cars, even doing his own podcast, while Mary Barra at GM keeps a fairly low profile, and then there's Elon Musk......

But I like VBH, so I'll have a listen to that one for sure.

When I was looking at the picture and read the name I was struggling to remember where I knew if from and then I read your comment about 5th Gear. What a great show.

When we lived in the UK I was able to watch both Top Gear and 5th Gear each week. Great times with such good car content we have never had here in the US. Sprinkle in weekly WRC, F1, BTCC, and DTM content with a dash of the Dakar Rally, and it was heaven.

Great point. He's talked about his own vintage car racing and how important performance cars are and he's also complained about how expensive it it to build gigantic EV trucks and SUVs, yet doesn't seem to take his own advice. Ford only builds one car and an entire line of boring, big, SUV's and trucks. At one time he also spoke openly about improving quality, but I've not seen any evidence of that from personal experience.

I think it all depended on the cable TV provider and the channels they carried. When we first moved back around 2003, we couldn't get any of it in the area where we lived. Eventually we got Top Gear, but 5th Gear was always a challenge.
