So this past weekend involved a detail for a neighbor who sees me quite a bit and wondered if I could help him with a toy they picked up just before Covid hit back in 2019.

The car is a 2010 Mazda Miata hardtop convertible with just over 70k on the clock. Being nearly 13 years old and pure black, it needed some love to really bring out the gloss as swirls from years of improper car left it looking dull. The trim also needed to be restored and coated to seal it in the back-to-new look. Lastly, he asked if I could use my Tornador vacuum system to clean up the interior and pull out the decade-plus of dust and pollen that was also keeping the interior from looking its best.

So here we have a fully restored beauty that now looks as good as it is fun to drive. Polished to nearly perfect correction and sealed up with a dual-layer of GYEON Mohs EVO Ceramic on the paint, GYEON Q2 RIM on the wheels, Rustoleum NeverWest for glass and CarPro Dlux on the trim.

Polishing work involved both the Flex 3401 and XCE with Orange Lake Country Flat Pads and GYEON Primer.

Next up is his daily driver, a Pearl White VW Golf R very similar to the one I did several weeks back.

Where'd you find the brandy new Miata? Looks fantastic, great turn around!

She looks brand new. Nothing is a pretty as the first hour of a freshly polished and coated black car.

Thanks! I do miss my black, but then after that first hour as noted, it turns metallic with dust and pollen :)
