Drying aid vs topper?

TEC 582 diluted 1:1 will not streak. Even if one hurls it on, which is not necessary. Nothing against Amplify but for people like me price is a consideration. For $15.00 plus shipping one can get 16 oz of Amplify. TEC 582 is $26.00 for a gallon on Amazon which at least for me includes shipping Add another $1.00 for a gallon of distilled water and one gets 2 gallons of product. Amplify cannot be diluted. That makes the TEC 582 sixteen times cheaper than the Amplify and that doesn't even include the extra $$ for shipping.
I've used Amplify a few times and I've used TEC 582 many times. I actually prefer the 582 over the Amplify. Not that the Amplify is an inferior product because it is not.
The "Amplify cannot be diluted" comes directly from Bradley of ADS. $15.00 for 16 oz is very near Feynlab Hybrid Detailer territory which is a significantly superior product in my opinion.

If Amplify is slightly diluted, what does that do? Does it reduce the effect/performance, or does it change the the structure, or what.
I'm only looking for a slight layer to be layed down while drying, half the strength might be enough on top of Cancoat.
And videos showed detailers giving it just a couple spritzes on a panel for drying.
And if Amplify can't be diluted, why can others, if they are all similar sealants.
Educate me.

You would have to ask the folks at ADS why Amplify cant be diluted. However i exchanged emails with Bradley from ADS and the specific subject was Amplify and dilution. Bradley told me in the email that Amplify cant be diluted.

I wonder if "can't" should be "shouldn't". Maybe it reduces the effect/performance they designed it for.

To be honest i was kind of confused by his response of Amplify cant be diluted as when one sprays it on a wet surface, which is one of the suggested methods, that is in essence is diluting the product.
That is not one of my preferred methods as it uses much more product than spraying on an applicator, wiping on and buffing off and accomplishes the same thing.

Gotta agree that on a dark car, its a losing battle to get it dried before the spots set in. Dark glass is the worst.

It's one of the reasons I keep going back to the TW products like ICE,SnS and TWCWW, they all remove light water spots. Most boutique brands do not. It's the only thing I don't like about Tec582.

If I know I'm washing a dark car, mid day, I even go for the RainX blue spot free wash. On a well protected (beading) car, it doesn't work as advertised but it does seem to prevent water spots from sticking. They wipe off fairly easily for me.

I think you need a water softener.

For water spot removal, I've found ECH2O to be much better than Amplify, Gyeon Ceramic Detailer, and other detail sprays I've used. Anecdotally it seems the products that are more of a traditional QD with a light cleaning ability do the job better than a detail spray designed to improve appearance.

Water softener in a bottle.

I'm in the 5-20ppm range depending on season. But anything more than zero and you get spots... its just the reality of water.
Hey, I switched over to pretty exclusively rinseless (except for wheels I still prefer a hose), so maybe I don't remember so well anymore, but I retired my CR Spotless after I changed my outside faucet over to soft water. You still get spots with soft water because the TDS is the same, but they clean off easily since they aren't calcium and/or magnesium.

Interesting, whatever minerals I have are pretty tenacious.

Won't say I switched over exclusively but am doing much more rinseless now that the temps/sun is creating water spot issues. Couple switches I did make was started collecting the water from the dehumidifier to use with the rinseless and mixing chemicals. Have to keep the dehumidifier a little cleaner than if not collecting the water and have to filter the collected water. Also have switched over to using Absolute as a drying aid at 1:64. Plan on using it as a drying aid for all washes. Has several advantages as a drying aid.

Two different things. Thinking on drying aid is to help with towel marring. Feel any decent QD will do fine.

As for topper a lot of what I’ve read said toppers dont adhere to coatings. I’m not sure but I like applying something to my car every few months. Can’t hurt and two my eyes car looks shinier
