Durafoam Question

Since I'm getting a Cyclo polisher very soon, I need to find some 4" pads that will be compatible with my system of products and steps. I've searched and read this site and found a great deal of information and opinions.

With all the forum discussion about Durafoam and The Edge pads in general, I'm foggy on one detail. What is Durafoam?

The only specifics I can find (this includes The Edge's website) on Durafoam is that it's used on the E2K pads. Some posts say it's a much firmer foam than other pads. Is this true? Firmer than what pads?

The foam pads I currently use are Meguiar's and 3M. I'd like my pads to be consisten across all product and machine lines, if at all possible.

email Aaron at Edge, he can further clarify the differences in foam versus durafoam. It appears kinda like those specialty mattresses and pillows that are softer than normal and behaves different based upon the density of foam used for each specific use.
