I decided to test the longevity of these two as I have seen some posts on 321. I have used 253 before but did not go through the cleaning/prep first and it still held up well. This time I started with Mothers Back To Black tire cleaner. Kind of a strange product, I applied it and the black and brown started running off. I do not think scrubbing is required but I did it anyway as it made me feel better. Scrubbing does not produce any suds. I rinsed and let the tires dry. I then loaded my Harbor Freight spray gun with 321 and sprayed the Passenger side front and rear tire. Cleaned the gun and loaded 253 which would be used on the Drivers side front and rear. The 321 appeared very glossy (not a glossy tire fan) and I let both sides soak for about 20 minutes. While removing the excess 321 with a Terry cloth it felt greasy but smoothed out with a even coat showing on the tires. The 253 excess came off as usual leaving a nice matte finish. As time went on I noticed the 321 side had lost the gloss it had and the tires appeared flat black and dry with no greasy feeling while the 253 still had a matte finish. If you like flat black 321 is for you. I sprayed a Terry cloth with 321 and applied it again to the tires this time not wiping any excess off. Same out come, flat black tires.

Looks good. Curious how long it'll last. You should compare those to #281 wet tire shine. I love this stuff. It lasts and lasts.
Also tried your recommendation on the 253 on trim today on a Denali truck. It turned out amazing. Dry to the touch in minutes. I'll have to see about the durability.

I should find out the durability part as it is on the wife's daily driver. What kind of finish does the 281 leave ?. Flat, Matte, glossy ?. Let me know with the 253 as You will probably know before I do. On a side note the Company Van was bought new and I have given it a few 932 washings ( love that stuff) and the Aqua Wax in it lasts Months and Months, anyway I have been using straight Aqua Wax on the black trim and it still looks new and seems to last forever also with no fading evident.

It's pretty glossy but I really like the look it gives on my polished wheels. Here's a 50/50 pic

Hard to tell in that pic because the sun wasn't communicating but it's glossy.
Luckily it hasn't rained all week since I applied it but ill keep you updated.
Did aquawax darken the trim at all? I've heard people using 105 on the trim and it darkens it and lasts a long time.
If you like aquawax you should try mixing up some 931 in quick detailer ratio and using it after a wash. It cleans a little better than AW and still leaves the paint slick and super shiny. Smells amazing also!

Oh yeah it's glossy. I prefer matte. To each his own, if we were all the same it would be a boring world. Aqua Wax does darken some but I do not think as much as 253, give it a try and see what you think. Your 931 is my 932 in gallon size and I love it, slickest QD I have used.

Not to derail the thread, but what dilution ratio do you use for 931 as a QD? Can't find anything here or on the DG site and based on its fine performance as a rinseless, I'd like to give it a try.

I'll give it a shot. Yeah I have the gallon size, 932 it is. Sometimes I forget all the numbers lol.

It's 16 ounces of water to 3 ounces of 931. Makes 19 ounces total. I don't think it says it online but it does say it on the back of the bottle.

DG quotes 3oz to 16oz water. I have gone all the way down to 1oz but finally settled at 2.

The 321 is browning and wiping the tire with a terry cloth it is turning black. The 253 is hanging in there, still feels smooth with a wipe down and no drag on the cloth. Weekly washings with 901 and no rain during this period. The 321 lasted about 3 weeks.

Nice update. I just applied 253 to my tires that previously had 281 wet look tire shine on them. I was using a foam tire applicator before and I didn't like the way 253 was applying. It was streaky and uneven. Then I switched to an old terry cloth and the finish was perfect. I think I'm sticking with 253 the looks and durability can't be beat.

I think if your car was driven through rain the 321 would be gone by now.

I agree with the rain. I cleaned both 321 tires and applied 253. At least all the tires look the same now.
