For Quick Detailers (QD) and Quick/Spray Waxes (QW) I usually but over the counter products (ie. Meguiars and Mothers). I have for a long time been using Meguiars Ultimate QD and Ultimate QW. They both have always left pleasing results. I can count on one hand the times I have had streaking issues. Both products did so on first use.

So today I went to go buy some more DG#902 and decided to try something new. I have always seen the #951, but never bought as I always had a bottle of Meg's UQW. Today however I finally decided to try Aquawax.

Living in an apartment now, I do a two bucekt wash at the coin opp. After washes I alternate between a QD or QW. So after my wash today I gave the AW a go.

Application:

I lightly went over the car with a waffle weave drying towel to soak up a majority of the water. With some water still remaining I sprayed half the hood with AW. Then spread the product in with a MF (microfiber) towel. The product spread very evenly, a lot better than previous products. Their was a nice uniform coat, almost like I applied a Liquid or paste wax to the surface.

Removal:

To remove I took a similar Mf towel and buffed lightly. The product nearly vanished. Then I buffed (final wipe) the section with a plush MF. All product at that point had been removed.

Final Results:

I was blown away by the gloss that was left behind. Much better than other products I have used. There was zero streaks, which I was impressed with, zero learning ins and outs of product(note this was done in shade as per directions on bottle). I also noticed when I lifted the wipers to clean the glass water always drips on the hood before I wipe them off. The water droplet hit the hood and rolled half way down the hood before I got to it. This stuff is slick!

I highly recommend this to anyone, especially those who buy these type of products OTC. This is my new got to QW. Product was applied to my Tuxedo Black Taurus with Meg's M21 topped with a 3 week old layer of Meg's M26. I am looking forward to the next rain to see if the 951 will shed the water like it did with the wiper droplet.

I know many use AW as a drying aid, and it no doubt adds lubricity to help lessen wash induced marring and lessens water spotting while drying.

I might be one of the few that have used it as a detailer spray after a wash. Works nice like this too.

I'm out, gotta get some more.

Once I get my car right and corrected, there is never a reason to use anything else, I buy it buy the gallon - not a detailer, just for my own use...

Wondering if you've tried ONR-WW? If so, how you would compare it to 932 rinseless wash with aquawax? TIA

I too have been converted! I was pretty satisfied with ONR over collinite 845 and the Klasse twins, but after trying 931 and AW I'll never use anything else. I can't wait for spring to try all the other DG polishes/sealants.

Use Aquawax just once and you are done. No more different product hunting involved.

I use it the same way, the look is astounding.

Welcome to the world of DG's AW!

I've been using it for a couple years now and have used it both as a drying aid and dry, either way, works great both ways. Never understood why it was called a drying aid, I just spray it on while the car is wet because I know I'm going to dry it off and its more about time management for me:dblthumb2:

I'm very lucky that I can walk into any CarQuest here in Chicagoland and get get AW! (unless they're sold out and that's never been the case)

I don't use it after every wash. Lately I alternate with 521.

Of course 951/952 is great as a drying aide, QD, or just plain ol' spray wax (sealant actually). (FWIW to those that are not familiar with Duragloss' numbering scheme, 952 is the gallon version, just as 902 is the gallon to 901 shampoo.)

It was Bill @ Duragloss however that suggested to me that I try mixing it with 921 Fast Clean & Shine. Wow, wow.... WOW! :dblthumb2: It can be mixed as high as 50:50 but Bill stated they'd been having really good results with AQW @ 25: FC&S @ :75 (which is the way I keep it mixed). Makes for a simply amazing QD spray!:props:

One note on 951/952 is that if you put it on regularly, especially on black paints it will start to smear/streak. Reason being it's so durable on it's own that it literally doesn't go away between washes, and will easily last 2~3 months in decent weather. This is why it's sometimes better to either dilute it with distilled water *or* just apply it to a wet surface every other (or sometimes 2 out of 3) applications. Which of course is why it works so darned good with 921. D

It wouldn't be the cheapest waterless/rinseless wash out there, but if say you're using Megs D114 (which leaves nothing behind) as your wash, it plays VERY well being used as the mix afterwards. :)

How would you describe the difference in appearance between AW and Meg's UQW?

I am glad you reposted this. I was just using 921 the other day ( great on it's own ) and was thinking of your prior post on this but did not take it any further. I will have to give it a try. Sounds like a Zaino Z8 mix. Will have to mix in 521 also.

AW and FC&S are appox the same price. Is there a reason to go 25% AW and 75 FC&S over 50%/50%?
I have both and I'm going to do a mix. What's the speed-bump at 50/50?

Thanks in advance

How would you describe the difference in appearance between AW and Meg's UQW?

AW has more gloss, it really enhanced my black paint. The DOI was much clearer, really made the factory orange peel more annoying. It does not fill like UQW, it does some just not as well.

I will wait a few weeks and if I remember to do a 50/50 on the hood with AW and UQW.

I find AquaWax to be a really good drying aid. It also gives good protection for a month or more. Use it over dedicated sealants such as Duragloss 111 for best results as it is a spray sealant itself. Fast Clean and Shine is a QD and can be used over wax or sealant (it may have some AquaWax in it for all I know). It cleans light dirt, fingerprints and bird bombs pretty well, as any good QD should. The shine is at least as good as AquaWax but not as durable and long lasting. AquaWax on the other hand should never be used as a cleaning product and should be applied when drying a washed car or as a "topper" on a dry, clean car.

If you wash your car weekly then an application of AquaWax every third or fourth wash would be ideal. It should not require more applications than that. Fast Clean and Shine could be used more often as a light cleaner and as a quick touch-up product. The closest products I have found to them are Lucas Slick Mist Speed Wax, which is as versatile and performs as well as AquaWax (and is easily found at any car store, including WalMart) and Ultima Waterless Plus+ at a QD ratio which acts very much like Fast Clean and Shine but is even cheaper if you buy the concentrate.

If they recommend mixing AW and FCS together maybe it is to try to get the best of both worlds, however, they are different products made for different uses. If they are compromised by diluting one with the other, as is the case in any compromise, peak efficiency may not be achieved at either end. If the mixture at whatever ratio were a much better concoction overall, I have to believe they would bottle it and sell it.

My two cents/opinion.
All you need is Duragloss and Collinite products. No other boutique products.
Both product lines are durable, look great and are inexpensive.
