Dusty Garage

Hello all!

I have noticed my cars in the garage are becoming extremely dusty even when they are just sitting there. I recently took a leaf blower to blow the dust out , which helped a bit, but how is everyone keeping the dust out of their work area? Im afraid of correcting a car and having a dust particle attach to the pad and tear up my work. Any advise would be great! Thank you all in advance!

If you have a shop vac, connect the extension wands to the large crevice tool and vacuum along all the corners and otherwise impossible to reach areas, getting rid of any spiderwebs etc...

Then take it even further and connect a dust brush and hit the walls + ceiling of the garage and also any vents etc. [make sure this is a dedicated dust brush that you only use for heavy duty tasks, because you don't want to use this again to vacuum your cars interior]

Basically giving your garage a reset and ridding it of longtime lingering dirt, which is sure to be leading to your current dust bowl situation.

I live on a dirt road. I always use an old shop vac to clean the floor and shelves. The blower will blow the dust around and in every crevice the garage.

Dust can also collect on the top edge of the garage door, and every time you open the door the dust can fall on the car.

+1 on the shopvac extension wand and brush. My garage took 2 days to shopvac every inch floor, ceiling and walls. VASTLY improved.
